Mrs S Sykes (Parent Governor)
I am delighted to have been appointed as a Parent Governor for King Henry School. I was born in Bexley and grew up in this area, attending Townley Grammar School in the distant days when formerly known as Bexley & Erith Technical High School for Girls! I am now the parent of two sons both of whom attend our school, one currently in Year 7 and the other Year 12.
I am a qualified family lawyer with over 20 years of experience and I have been working successfully on a self-employed consultancy basis for a local solicitors practice for the past 8 years, advising clients in regard to all aspects of matrimonial and family law. Through my work over the years I have very much enjoyed meeting a great variety of people with vastly differing backgrounds and I have particularly enjoyed helping clients navigate through what can be a very difficult time in their lives. I am a very good listener, focussed and patient in my approach to assessing and working through any difficult situation or conflict.
I am particularly interested in supporting the multi academy trust between our school and Townley Grammar School. I am extremely excited about this collaboration and the benefits that I feel this will bring in the future, not only to our school but also to the wider community.
Mr C Willis (Staff Governor)
