New Headteacher
for King Henry School

 25th April 2019

Dear Parents & Carers, Staff and Students

After an extensive recruitment process, I am pleased to announce that we have successfully appointed a new Headteacher for King Henry School.

We shortlisted four very strong candidates whom we interviewed at the end of last term, whittling them down to two for a lengthy interview on the last Friday of term. I would like to express my thanks to the staff, students and parents who were involved in the selection process. It was important that we found an individual that was right for our school and the involvement of the school community was fundamental to this.

From the 3rd June 2019 the new Headteacher will be Ms Zara Tippey, a very experienced Principal and a very skilled and accomplished individual. I am pleased that we have been able to secure her to start earlier than September and, in fact, she will be in school for a significant time before that start date in order to secure a smooth handover.

I would like to express my thanks to Heather Whitmore who has so capably stepped in as Acting Headteacher and will resume her duties as Director of School Improvement for the Trust from 3rd June.

This marks a new phase in the story of King Henry School and one which we can look forward to with much excitement and anticipation. Thank you all for your continued support. I know you will make Ms Tippey most welcome.

Yours sincerely

Desmond Deehan

CEO/Executive Headteacher
