Year 11 leaving early 20.11.19

Monday 18th November 2019

Dear Parents and Carers

Wednesday 20th November information

As you will be aware, Year 11 students are currently taking part in their Pre-public examinations (previously known as mock examinations). We are using this period to help our students understand the importance of focused preparation, subject revision and the self-regulation required to be successful in their examinations.

On Wednesday 20th November, the maths examinations are expected to finish at 12.30. The Year 11 students will have an early lunch between 12.30 and 12.50. Students will then be able to leave school to return home for self-directed revision study. This time is designed to be useful for students to prepare and revise, and to help with overall mental wellbeing.

The library will be available for supervised revision for students not wanting to go home at this time or for parents who require their son or daughter to stay at school.

If you require your son or daughter to remain at school for the afternoon, please let us know by responding to the email sent via Evolve. The deadline for this is 9am on Wednesday 20th November.

We reserve the final decision on students able to leave school early, based on their maturity, good behaviour and positive attitude to learning.

We hope your child is able to use this time effectively and to improve their progress during this important time during their examination year.

Yours sincerely

Ms Tippey

Head Teacher
