Year 11 Students
Friday 15th May 2020
Dear Parents & Carers,
In light of the lockdown restrictions I wanted to write to you as hopefully by now you and your child have had a chance to adapt to the current changes to our everyday life. I feel that I am still getting my head around the cancellation of the summer exams and the premature end of Year 11! It is something we never could have anticipated.
I wanted to take the opportunity to thank you for all of your support over the last five years. Your child is a fantastic young person, who I know will succeed in life. It has been an honour supporting and watching them grow over the years and I hope they fondly look back on their years at King Henry/Erith School. The friends they've made, the things they've learnt and the confidence they've gained.
As a community, we await further news from the Government and advice on social distancing measures. The students’ prom was due to be held on Friday 19th June 2020. It seems unlikely that we will be able to continue with this date but we will still host a prom and leavers event for the students at a suitable time.
Through the use of emails and Microsoft teams myself and Mrs Sardar are sharing information regarding the leavers’ hoodies and year book.
The school will be in contact with the students and yourselves via email/letter/website with updates, so please continue to check the website for further information. As I am sure you can appreciate it is difficult to confirm any dates until there are clear guidelines. However, GCSE results day does remain on Thursday 20th August 2020.
I hope in these challenging times you and your families remain well. I personally feel totally overwhelmed and entirely grateful for being part of your child’s journey through Erith/King Henry and wish them the very best in the future. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or queries.
With heartfelt thanks
Head of Year 11
