YEAR 7 CATCH UP PLANS FOR 2018-2019
2018-19 Year 7 Catch Up Breakdown and Expenditure plan
Our primary aim each and every year is to ensure that teaching and learning is at a good or better standard in all lessons. However, some students need additional support to help them catch up in areas they are finding difficult. Students who have not met the benchmark of 100 in their KS2 Maths and English reading SATs fall into the category of the Year 7 Catch funding. The aim of this funding is provide additional support to year 7 students so that they ‘catch up’ and then make expected progress through the next part of their academic life.
As of September 2018 we have approximately 100 students who require the support of the Year 7 Catch up programmes for either English reading and/or Maths.
Last year’s focus on M Catch resulted in a clear development in the way we support students to their maths. As the year developed the use of the programme ‘Catch up Numeracy’ was adapted and new ideas using PiXL resources and an online programme called ‘ixl’ helped engage and improve students maths abilities.
We have a comprehensive programme of support that varies according to the student’s needs and ensures they are enjoying and developing their core skills.
YEAR 7 CATCH UP EXPENDITURE 2018-2019
Throughout the year we will be reviewing the impact of the intervention and making adjustments to ensure that the students are making the expected progress to help ‘catch up’.
